The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Omereonye Solomon Chigozie, also known as “Kolor Cabiek Ye,” for alleged internet fraud amounting to $1,500.
According to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, Chigozie was arraigned on March 20, 2025, before Justice Maurine Oyetenu of the Federal High Court in Uyo on a two-count charge of impersonation, possession of fictitious messages, and obtaining by false pretence through a fraudulent Facebook account.
He pleaded not guilty, and the prosecution requested a trial date while seeking his remand in a correctional facility. The court scheduled the trial for May 22, 2025, and ordered his detention.
Chigozie was arrested in Uyo on October 3, 2024, following credible intelligence on his alleged fraudulent activities, which included impersonating foreigners to defraud victims globally.
