A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Adeyeri Stephen, has stated that the achievements recorded so far by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa have surpassed those of his predecessors in the history of the state.

Adeyeri, who stated this while speaking with newsmen, said the massive infrastructural projects embarked upon by the Aiyedatiwa’s administration in the last one year and other transformational programmes have significantly ranked Ondo as one the fastest developing states in the country.

Adeyeri who noted that the giant strides of Aiyedatiwa earned him victory in the last governorship election in the state, expressed optimism that the Aiyedatiwa led administration will turn around the fortune of the state.

He said, “Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has made significant strides in Ondo State, achieving feats that surpass those of his predecessors and setting unprecedented records in the state’s history.

“His administration’s focus on infrastructure, education, workers’ welfare, and rural development has brought about notable improvements across the state.

“Under Governor Aiyedatiwa’s leadership, several key road projects have been initiated and completed, enhancing connectivity and boosting economic activities.

“The Aiyedatiwa administration has made the provision of infrastructure and social amenities a priority.

“When the Governor assumed office, he directed that all contractors return to their respective sites, ensuring they were paid based on the progress of their work.

“This action revitalised numerous stalled projects across the State. Among the road projects now receiving attention are the dualization of Oda Road, Ijoka Road, and the Irese/Shagari Flyover in Akure, as well as the dualization of Owo and the construction of Igoba Road.

“Additionally, in February, the Governor launched the construction of rural roads throughout the State to facilitate the easy transportation of agricultural produce from farms to urban areas.

“The first phase of the initiative spans across all three senatorial districts, starting with the Oda-Cocoa road,Board-Langbodo in Akure South LG in the Central; Ode-Omi-Ebute Iyara in Irele LGA for the South and Ifira Akoko-Afo in Akoko South East LG for the North.

“This is just as the Ministry of Infrastructure had flagged off filling of potholes on major roads in the State. Also, there is ongoing rehabilitation of 60km selected roads with asphalt-overlay across the State while potholes on all major roads are now being filled.

“Recognising the importance of education, the governor has prioritized the sector by approving the recruitment of about many teachers to address shortages in public schools.

“Additionally, the state government released N550 million for the payment of 2024 WAEC fees for students in public secondary schools, alleviating financial burdens on parents and guardians.

“Also, Governor Aiyedatiwa has demonstrated a commitment to the welfare of civil and public servants. In January, his administration paid the January 2017 salary arrears owed to civil servants and, in March, paid three months’ salary arrears to the staff of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic.

“While the Governor is promoting the welfare of workers, he is also focusing his attention on providing employment opportunities for the teeming young people in the state.

“In February, the Governor approved the release of employment letters to 165 newly recruited staff of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS). About 100 health workers were also recruited by the Civil Service Commission while the process is currently ongoing to recruit additional 600 health workers.

“I want to tell you that Aiyedatiwa’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment have led to remarkable achievements that have transformed Ondo State, setting a new benchmark for governance and development in the region,”
