For Immediate Release

I. A Nation Under Siege

Mr. President, the soil of Nigeria is saturated with the blood of the innocent. While we deliberate, our people are slaughtered in their farms, our children are abducted from their schools, and our highways have become corridors of death. Villages are being erased from the map. This is not merely insecurity; it is a full-scale invasion, and Nigeria is yielding ground daily.

The entities we label “bandits” have evolved into a sophisticated, parallel state. They are heavily armed, ideologically driven, and territorially ambitious. They control illegal gold mines, generating billions in illicit revenue. They impose taxes on communities, operate a thriving kidnapping industry, and flaunt their power by negotiating with state governments as equals. Their success is not a result of superior strength, but of our collective failure to confront them with the decisive force they warrant.

II. The Architecture of Complicity

Every ransom paid funds their war chest. Every illegal mining site left operational bankrolls their arms purchases. Every compromised official they exploit undermines our national security. There are powerful individuals within our borders in business and politics whose silence and complicity are stained with the blood of the fallen. We must have the courage to name them, shame them, and bring them to justice.

III. The Blueprint for Victory Exists

We do not need another committee. We do not need another statement of “deep concern.” We need action.

The Nigerian military and intelligence community possess comprehensive, battle-tested counter-insurgency blueprints. These plans crafted by veterans of the Sambisa campaign detail integrated strategies for:

· Kinetic Operations: Deploying rapid-response strike forces to dominate and clear our forests.
· Financial Strangulation: Seizing all illegal mining sites and dismantling the domestic and international financial networks that support these terrorists.
· Border Sterilization: Securing our porous borders to halt the flow of weapons.
· Community Intelligence: Empowering local communities to become the frontline of information and resilience.

These documents are not secrets; they are shelved. We call upon you, Mr. President, to implement them without further delay.

IV. A Final Appeal to History and Hope

Mr. President, you promised the nation Renewed Hope. The Nigerian people still believe in that promise. But hope without concrete action is a cruel illusion.

History is watching. The mothers of Zamfara, the orphans of Katsina, the soldiers in the trenches, and the displaced millions in IDP camps are watching. This is the defining moment of your presidency.

We urge you to:

  1. Declare a State of Emergency on banditry in all affected states.
  2. Authorize and fund the immediate, full-scale implementation of existing military plans.
  3. Initiate a comprehensive crackdown on the economic enablers of banditry, from illegal mining to ransom networks.

If you act with the courage this moment demands, history will record that you halted the bleeding and began the healing of our nation. If we hesitate, the enemy advances, and the verdict of history will be merciless.

The power is in your hands. The strategies are on the table. The Nigerian people are behind you.

End this nightmare. Declare total war on banditry now. For the sake of the living, for the memory of the dead, and for the future of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed:
Otunba (Dr.) Abdulfalil Abayomi Odunowo, D.Sc (h.c)
