Abidakun Vows to Champion Youth Inclusion, Lead Legislative Advocacy for Greater Participation in Governance

In a bold and forward-looking declaration, Hon Taiwo Abidakun has pledged to spearhead a robust legislative agenda aimed at deepening youth inclusion in governance and decision-making processes across Owo Constituency I.

The aspirant, widely regarded as a dynamic voice among the new generation of leaders, made this commitment during a recent stakeholders’ engagement, where he outlined his vision for a more inclusive and participatory political system that recognizes the critical role of young people in shaping sustainable development.

Hon. Abidakun emphasized that youths constitute a significant percentage of the population and must therefore be given a seat at the table where policies that affect their future are formulated. He stressed that beyond political rhetoric, there is an urgent need for deliberate legislative frameworks that institutionalize youth participation in governance.

“Youth inclusion is not a privilege; it is a necessity for progressive governance. My ambition is driven by the conviction that young people must move from the margins to the mainstream of leadership and policy formulation,” he stated.

He further assured that, if elected into the Ondo State House of Assembly, he would sponsor and support bills that promote youth representation in government appointments, advisory councils, and public institutions.

According to him, such legislative advocacy would not only empower youths but also bring fresh perspectives, innovation, and energy into governance.

Highlighting the challenges confronting young people, including unemployment, limited access to quality education, and inadequate political representation, Hon. Abidakun reiterated his commitment to champion policies that address these issues holistically. He noted that empowering youths economically and politically would significantly reduce social vulnerabilities and drive community advancement.

The aspirant also called on political leaders, traditional institutions, and community stakeholders to embrace a new culture of mentorship and capacity-building that prepares young people for leadership responsibilities.

He underscored the importance of creating structured platforms where youths can actively engage in governance processes.
“Leadership is about continuity and sustainability. By investing in young people today, we are securing a stronger and more prosperous tomorrow,” he added.

Hon. Abidakun’s growing popularity among constituents, particularly the youth demographic, is widely attributed to his consistent advocacy for inclusiveness, innovation, and grassroots development. His campaign continues to gain momentum as more stakeholders align with his vision of a constituency where young people are empowered to lead, contribute, and thrive.

As political activities gradually intensify ahead of the next general elections, his promise to lead a legislative charge for youth inclusion stands as a defining pillar of his candidacy and a reflection of his commitment to progressive, people-oriented representation.
