The Rugipo Leaders Forum, a group representing students of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, has condemned the unjust incarceration of their colleague, Akeju, at Olokuta Correctional Centre. Akeju was arrested and remanded based on allegations of cyberbullying the Attorney General of Ondo State, which the group claims is unsubstantiated and a gross violation of his fundamental human rights.

The group accused Ajulo, a key figure in the institution, of abuse of power and reckless leadership, alleging that it was under his directive that Akeju was sent to prison. They demand his immediate release and call for a transparent investigation into Ajulo’s actions.

RUGIPO LEADERS FORUM

RUFUS GIWA POLYTECHNIC, OWO

INJUSTICE MUST End,

WE DEMAND JUSTICE FOR AKEJU

We, the Rugipo Leaders Forum, write with great concern and firm conviction regarding the unjust incarceration of our fellow comrade, Akeju, who has been remanded at Olokuta Correctional Centre under suspicious and unjust circumstances.

It is deeply troubling that a fellow comrade, who has no clear connection to any cyber-related offense, would be arrested and thrown behind bars based on vague and unsubstantiated allegations of cyberbullying the Attorney General of Ondo State…. an act we, as fellow students leader and close observers, strongly believe he knows nothing about.

This entire ordeal is not only a gross violation of his fundamental human rights, but also a clear example of oppression being used as a tool to silence the innocent. We cannot, and will not, stay silent while our colleague is made a scapegoat for reasons unknown.

We boldly state: AJULO MUST GO!

It was under his directive and coordination that Akeju was unjustly sent to Olokuta Correctional Centre. His actions reflect nothing but abuse of power, reckless leadership, and a complete disregard for justice and student welfare.

We call on:

1. The Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo

2. The Ondo State Government

3. Human rights organizations

4. And the general public

…to urgently step in and ensure the immediate release of Akeju and conduct a transparent investigation into the actions of Ajulo and others involved in this travesty.

This is not just about Akeju…. This is about justice, fairness, and the protection of student rights.

We say NO to oppression.

We say NO to injustice.

We say YES to freedom, truth, and accountability.

Until Akeju is free, we remain united and unshaken.

Signed:✍️
