Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has denied receiving any retraction letters from the lawyer of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Olisa Agbakoba, who is demanding a retraction of her sexual harassment allegations against the Senate President.Nigerian fashion

Agbakoba, whose law firm, Olisa Agbakoba Legal (OAL), represents Akpabio, had reportedly written a second letter to Akpoti-Uduaghan, requesting the retraction of her allegations.

In the letter, Agbakoba highlights alleged contradictions in the senator’s allegations of sexual harassment against Akpabio.

According to the letter, Akpabio’s lawyer pointed out that Akpoti-Uduaghan failed to clarify discrepancies surrounding her accusations, particularly the timeline of events.

In the first letter, sent on April 14, 2024, Agbakoba requested that the senator provide evidence for her allegations, which were made in February 2025, when she claimed Akpabio had sexually harassed her.

Agbakoba also questioned why Akpoti-Uduaghan had praised Akpabio on social media the day after the alleged incident, deleting the posts without addressing the contradictions in her claims.

The second letter continued to press for clarification and demanded a retraction, citing the senator’s continued public appearances with Akpabio, including at the Inter-Parliamentary Union session in Geneva in March 2024, where they were photographed together.

However, Akpoti-Uduaghan, in response to the claims, has firmly rejected the demand for retraction, insisting that she has not received any letters from Agbakoba and slamming the request as an attempt to silence her.

She has clarified that she will not retract her accusations against the Senate President.

The controversy began when Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment. Her subsequent suspension from the Senate for alleged misconduct has further complicated the situation, raising questions about motive and accountability
