Pope Leo seeks release of abducted priests, students in Nigeria, Cameroon
Pope Leo XVI has expressed deep concern over the recent wave of kidnappings in Nigeria and Cameroon, calling for the immediate release of abducted priests, students, and other victims.
In a tweet on Sunday, the pontiff described the situation as a source of great pain, particularly for the young men and women taken and the families enduring the distress of their abduction.
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the kidnapping of priests, faithful, and students in Nigeria and Cameroon. I feel great pain, above all for the many young men and women who have been abducted and for their distressed families,” he said.
