Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has announced that he will be stepping back briefly from public activities following medical advice.
In a post shared on his official X handle on Saturday, Obi revealed he felt unwell while attending an event in Enugu. According to him, a doctor prescribed medication and recommended one or two days of rest.
“In obedience to the doctor’s advice, I will not be able to meet up with all my scheduled engagements within and outside the country this weekend. I sincerely apologise for any inconveniences this might cause and humbly plead for understanding,” Obi wrote.
The former Anambra State governor also highlighted some of his recent engagements. He attended a tourism event in Enugu before visiting Good Hope Specialist Hospital, Isulo, Orumba South LGA, Anambra State, where he contributed ₦10 million to support the Aguata Diocese of the Church of Nigeria in acquiring and revitalising the facility.
