FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has hosted suspended members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to a dinner in the United Kingdom, amid the ongoing political crisis in the state.
The meeting, confirmed by Wike’s media aide Lere Olayinka via Facebook, took place during the lawmakers’ legislative capacity-building trip.
Wike had earlier met with political allies in Port Harcourt before departing for the UK. The lawmakers were suspended amid a political standoff involving Governor Sim Fubara, which led to a brief declaration of emergency rule in the state.
