The Owo Youth Development Association has announced the temporary suspension of their planned accountability protest against Senator Jide Ipinshagba, scheduled for May 29. The decision follows interventions by key stakeholders, including the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami, and other leaders.
The protest aimed to hold Senator Ipinshagba accountable for alleged abandonment of projects, including the Skill Acquisition Centre and non execution of a Youth Development Centre in Owo in 2024. However, the senator has reportedly made commitments to complete these projects, which have been conveyed to the association.
The association has decided to give Senator Ipinshagba a chance to fulfill his promises within the specified timeframe.
We appreciate the efforts of the Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Owolabi Adelami mni, security agencies, and other leaders in facilitating dialogue between the parties.
The public is urged to monitor the senator’s progress, and the association reserves the right to revive the protest if promises are not kept.
