Jonathan did not use security challenges as an excuse to prolong his stay in office–Yuguda
According to a report by Newspaper on Friday, April 24, 2026, Bashir Yuguda, former Minister of National Planning and former Minister of State for Finance, has defended former President Goodluck Jonathan, stating that his record in office, particularly his democratic leadership style, economic reforms, and statesmanship, should not be diminished by what he called misleading narratives.
Yuguda, who also previously served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, issued a statement to journalists on Friday, describing Jonathan’s time in office as one marked by honour, experience, vision, and restraint.
