Peter Obi Doesn’t Have The Patience To Build A Party,And I Would Recommend Two Courses For Him-Raimi
In a recent interview shared by Arise News, development expert and member of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Taofiq Raimi, offered his perspective on Nigeria’s evolving political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during the programme, Raimi addressed the role of key opposition figures, particularly Peter Obi, in shaping the future of party politics in the country. He questioned Obi’s long-term political strategy, especially in relation to party-building and internal consolidation.“Peter Obi doesn’t have the patience to build a party, and I would recommend two courses for him,” he said.
Raimi explained that sustainable political success requires time, structure, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder interests within a party system. He noted that building a strong political platform goes beyond popularity and demands consistent engagement, negotiation, and institutional development.
The APC member further emphasized that Nigeria’s political environment is dynamic and requires leaders who can adapt to its complexities while maintaining internal cohesion. He suggested that without a deliberate effort to strengthen party structures, opposition figures may struggle to maintain momentum gained during election cycles.
