They Used Obi,They Invited Him To Their Church. Now,They Have Gone Mute Because He’s Unpopular-Iginla

According to a recent video by Pastor Joshua Iginla’s YouTube Channel on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Pastor Joshua Iginla has fiercely criticised religious leaders who once endorsed Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi but have now gone silent.

Speaking during a recent sermon, Iginla accused these pastors of exploiting Obi for church traffic rather than genuine national transformation. “They used him, they invited him to their church. Suddenly, you have gone mute because he’s unpopular,” Iginla declared.

He questioned whether these leaders ever cared about Nigeria’s change or merely sought crowd numbers. The cleric lamented a trend where pastors behave politically, celebrating “spiritual sons” only when they bring heavy light but disassociating once attacks come. “That is not integrity. That is wickedness,” he stressed. Iginla clarified he is not advocating for Obi but speaking truth, urging sincerity in the body of Christ.

His words: “Where are the pastors that were using my candidate? Mr. Peter Obi, that’s my candidate. Where are the pastors that used him to campaign? They used him; they invited him to their church. Suddenly, you have gone mute because he’s unpopular. Are you actually interested in the change of Nigeria, or were you using him to draw crowds to your church? Let’s be sincere
