BREAKING: Nigerian Police IG Egbetokun Summons 11 Officers For ‘Repeatedly Violating Force Social Media Policy’

The Nigerian police have summoned 11 officers for allegedly violating the Force’s social media policy.

 

This was revealed in a police wireless message dated February 19, 2025, issued by the Force Public Relations Department.

 

The memo cited repeated violations of the social media policy as the reason for the summons by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

 

It was addressed to the Assistant Inspector General of Police Mobile Police Force and the Commissioners of Police in Makurdi, Benue State, and Ilorin, Kwara State.

 

The officers have been ordered to report to the office of the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, at 8 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025.

 

Those summoned for questioning are the Provost Marshal 70 PMF, PC Bala; Provost Presscort, CPL Umar Yarima; SUPOL Apa Division Makurdi, CPL Ruth Agada; CSP ‘A’ Ilorin, CPL Lami Ayuba; CSP Admin DOPS Owerri, PPC Ogar Melvis; and PC Precious Іkpah.

 

 

The message reads: “Disregard of Force social media policy X EYE respectfully convey INGENPOL’S directives that X you warn and release X Provost Marshal 70 PMF X to personally come along with X F/NO 539261 PC Bala X Provost Presscort X to personally come along with X F/NO 526563 CPL Umar Yarima X SUPOL Apa Division Makurdi X to personally come along with X F/NO 071045 CPL Ruth Agada X CSP ‘A’ Ilorin X to personally come along with X F/NO 069809 CPL Lami Ayuba X CSP Admin DOPS Owerri X to personally come along with X F/NO 072636 PPC Ogar Melvis X F/NO 072836 PC Precious Іkpah Х to interview INGENPOL through PRESSFOR Abuja X on Friday 21/2/2025 X by 0800HRSX treat as very important please XXX.”
