In a shocking move, Festus Akingbaso, the member representing Idanre/Ifedore constituency in the House of Representatives, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The lawmaker made his decision known on the floor of the National Assembly, citing an “intractable crisis” in the PDP as the reason for his defection.

According to reports, Akingbaso’s decision was announced through a letter read by the Speaker, Abbas Tajudeen, during plenary. The letter highlighted the lawmaker’s dissatisfaction with the PDP’s internal conflicts, which he described as irresolvable.
