In a strategic move to drive sustainable development across Ose Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Barr. Clement Kolapo Ojo, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Ebenezer Olufowose, at the bank’s headquarters in Lagos earlier today.

The visit focused on establishing a broad-based partnership that would support the revival of the dormant First Bank branch in Ose, promote agricultural investments, and facilitate the creation of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) center to enhance educational access for students in the area.

Hon. Ojo emphasized that these initiatives are critical to repositioning Ose LGA for economic growth, digital advancement, and youth empowerment. He noted that the absence of a functional bank branch and a CBT center has long posed challenges to residents, particularly students who often travel outside the constituency to sit for computer-based exams.

Responding to the proposals, Mr. Olufowose lauded the chairman’s forward-thinking leadership and reaffirmed his unflinching support for the vision. While noting that First Bank’s current operational framework no longer allows for dual branches within a limited radius, he assured the deployment of POS terminals and trusted banking agents to fill the service gap and improve financial inclusion.

On agriculture, Mr. Olufowose pledged personal financial support for the local government’s initiatives, in addition to institutional backing through First Bank’s corporate programs. He reiterated that agriculture remains a core pillar for national and local economic growth, especially in grassroots communities like Ose.

He also expressed commitment to the establishment of a CBT center in the LGA, promising to work closely with the local administration to ensure its timely execution.

Addressing the recent security challenges, including the communal clash between Ijagba and Imoru communities and reported incidents of kidnapping, Mr. Olufowose extended his sympathy and praised Hon. Ojo’s swift and responsive leadership in managing the crises.

Hon. Barr. Ojo, in his remarks, thanked the First Bank Chairman for the warm reception and his willingness to collaborate on projects that will impact the lives of citizens. He noted that partnerships with reputable institutions like First Bank are pivotal to achieving the administration’s long-term goals.

“This meeting is a major milestone in our drive to build a stronger, self-reliant, and digitally empowered Ose Local Government,” he stated.

“We are grateful for the genuine interest and support shown by First Bank.”
