Have You Heard Of City Boys In Hausa Or Yoruba Land?’, Peter Obi Taunts Obi Cubana, Chief Priest
Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has stated that he has no knowledge of the so-called “City Boys Movement” in northern Nigeria.
The statement was published via the official X account of Leadership News. Obi made the remark while speaking to youths in the South-East, amid reports that personalities like Obi Cubana, Cubana Chief Priest, and other South-East figures have become associated with the movement.
While addressing the gathering, Obi questioned whether similar groups exist in other parts of the country, particularly in Hausa and Yoruba communities. He used the moment to engage the youths in a broader discussion about identity and regional representation.
He suggested that it was important to consider whether such movements are nationally widespread or limited to a particular region, emphasizing inclusiveness in youth engagement across Nigeria.
According to the report, Obi asked: “Have you ever heard of City Boys in Hausa land or in Yoruba land? Are we the only ones that have boys?
