ADC’s Journey from Humble Nyanya Office to Aso Rock Villa: “That Vision is Gradually Becoming Reality” – Nwosu

Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu, founder and pioneer National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has reflected on the party’s remarkable growth, declaring that its long-held dream of moving from a modest beginning to occupying the Presidential Villa is steadily materialising.

Speaking during the ADC’s 2026 National Convention, Nwosu emphasised the values of unity, shared responsibility, and visionary leadership that have defined the party since its inception.

“The ADC was built on the solid foundation of friendship and shared responsibility. Without responsibility, there can be no progress,” he stated.

Recounting the party’s early struggles, Nwosu recalled the moment when officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) inspected the ADC’s small office in Nyanya, a suburb of Abuja.

“I told them we would move from here to the Villa. Today, that vision is gradually becoming a reality,” he said, drawing applause from delegates.

Nwosu expressed strong confidence in the calibre of leaders now associated with the ADC, describing the party as “hope built on integrity, not empty promises.”

He noted that the coalition journey, which dates back to 2007, has attracted individuals of proven character and experience, making the party’s future “unstoppable.”

The remarks were made amid the party’s ongoing national convention at the Rainbow Event Centre in Abuja, where thousands of delegates from across Nigeria gathered to deliberate on the party’s direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Nwosu’s message underscored the ADC’s evolution from a relatively obscure party with limited infrastructure to a major platform now attracting prominent political figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other notable opposition leaders.

He reaffirmed that the party remains committed to its founding principles of inclusivity, progress, and responsible governance, positioning it as a credible alternative capable of delivering good governance to Nigerians.

Chief Ralph Okey Nwosu, who served as the ADC’s National Chairman for two decades until 2025, continues to play a key advisory and foundational role in the party he helped build.
