TRAGEDY UNFOLDS: Boko H@r@m and ISWAP Execute Joint Att@ck in North-East Nigeria

At least 27 persons were k!lled in the early hours of Wednesday following a coordinated t€rror att@ck on Shuwari Sholi community in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, according to reports by Vanguard.

The assailants, identified as fighters linked to Boko Haram and ISWAP, reportedly overran the community, opening fire on residents and burning structures during an operation said to have lasted several hours.

Among those k!lled was the village head of Shuwari, Bademi Papka, identified as a cousin of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

An eyewitness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the attackers arrived on motorcycles and targeted residents gathered near the village market and market square.
“They started shooting at people sitting together under a tree near the market,” the eyewitness said.

The source added that residents fled in different directions as the attackers fired sporadically.
“By God’s grace, some of us escaped unhurt, but many were sh0t while we ran toward the mountains,” the source said.

According to the account, military personnel in the area were alerted but arrived after the attackers had withdrawn.

Confirming the incident, a former chairman of Madagali Local Government Area, Maina Ularamu, said the att@ck occurred but noted that casualty figures remained uncertain.
“Some reports say about 20 people were k!lled, while others suggest the number is higher. The exact figure will only be known once people have settled after the initial fear and chaos,” he stated.

The Madagali axis has experienced repeated att@cks in recent years, reflecting persistent security challenges in parts of Nigeria’s North-East despite ongoing military operations.
