Engr. Olawande Okoro Extends Felicitations to Hon. (Elder) Tope Omolayo and Hon. Ibrahim Hammed on Their Inauguration as Chairman and Vice Chairman of Owo Local Government Council

A distinguished stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owo Local Government and an eminent voice within the diaspora community, Engr. Olawande Okoro, conveys his profound felicitations to Hon. (Elder) Tope Omolayo and Hon. Ibrahim Hammed on their historic ascension as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Owo Local Government Council, following their official swearing-in.

In his goodwill message, Engr. Okoro expressed unwavering confidence in their capacity to steer the affairs of Owo with foresight, diligence and an unrelenting commitment to progressive governance. He enjoined them to prioritise the comprehensive advancement of the local government, championing transformative initiatives that will not only rejuvenate the town’s infrastructure but also position it as an industrial nexus capable of attracting both domestic and international investors.

Underscoring the fundamental essence of security, Engr. Okoro charged the newly inaugurated Chairman to accord utmost priority to the protection of lives and property. He posited that an environment fortified by safety and stability is indispensable for economic revitalisation, social cohesion and investor confidence.

Furthermore, he exhorted the administration to place significant emphasis on the educational advancement of students in tertiary institutions by ensuring equitable access to scholarships, academic grants and support mechanisms that will catalyse intellectual growth. He also advocated for an extensive overhaul of the health sector, calling for the establishment of state-of-the-art medical facilities, enhanced healthcare services and comprehensive welfare interventions to alleviate the plight of the underprivileged.

Recognising agriculture as a linchpin of Owo’s economic framework, Engr. Okoro implored the Chairman to institute robust policies that would empower local farmers through subsidies on essential agricultural inputs, mechanised farming techniques and capacity-building programmes aimed at fostering innovation and productivity. He further stressed the imperative of upgrading rural infrastructure, particularly roads to facilitate the seamless transportation of agricultural produce to commercial hubs, thereby stimulating trade, enhancing food security and elevating the standard of living for agrarian communities.

In his concluding remarks, Engr. Okoro underscored that this momentous tenure presents an unparalleled opportunity to etch an enduring legacy through astute leadership, inclusivity and people-centric governance. He admonished the newly sworn-in officials to discharge their mandates with unassailable integrity, unyielding transparency and an indomitable passion for the socioeconomic emancipation of Owo Local Government.

Finally, he invoked divine guidance, wisdom and unfaltering fortitude upon their administration, praying that their stewardship surpasses all expectations and ushers Owo into an era of unprecedented progress.

Once again, heartfelt congratulations to Hon. (Elder) Tope Omolayo and Hon. Ibrahim Hammed on this well-merited mantle of leadership. May their tenure be defined by remarkable achievements and a lasting impact on the annals of Owo’s political and developmental trajectory.
