The Police Service Commission on Monday approved the appointment of Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command.
Before his appointment, CP Jimoh served as the Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.
Jimoh, a native of Kwara State, previously held positions as Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner, Airport Police, Deputy Commissioner of Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner of General Investigation.
According to Ikechukwu Ani, PSC Head of Press and Public Relations, CP Jimoh has undergone several professional training programs including: Combat Operations Course at Mobile Training College Maiduguri; African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan; and Weapons of Mass Destruction Countermeasure First Responder Training at an institute in the United States.
Additionally, Jimoh received training on Social Construction and Management Reform at the China Executive Leadership Academy in Pudong, China; Maritime Rescue and Salvage for Developing Countries at the China Maritime Academy in Ningbo, China; Anti-Hijacking Techniques and Tactics for Developing Countries at Yunnan Police College in Kunming, China; and attended the Police Training Institute in Seoul, South Korea.
Jimoh is a recipient of the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year, in recognition of his qualities and contributions to the development and use of Public Relations by the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations.
CP Jimoh appeared before the Commission on Monday, where the Commission’s Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd), Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court and Honourable Commissioner representing the Judiciary, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu, Honourable Commissioner representing the Police, were present.
Jimoh will replace Ishola Olanrewaju Olawale, who assumed duty as the 40th Commissioner of Police at the Lagos State Command in September 2024.
Olawale took over from CP Adegoke Fayoade, who had been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police and had since been redeployed as the AIG Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos.
