Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has again reduced its ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), setting a new rate of N835 per litre.
The adjustment, announced on Wednesday, represents a 3.5 per cent drop from the N865 per litre price fixed just six days earlier.
In a notice issued to customers, the refinery stated: “The new price is set at N835 per litre.”
This latest move marks the third reduction by Dangote in under six weeks.
The refinery had previously slashed the gantry price from N880 to N865 per litre.
Despite these consistent reductions, oil marketers have not passed the benefit on to consumers.
Pump prices across the country have remained unchanged, frustrating many Nigerians.
Analysts say the situation exposes the weak enforcement of pricing regulations in the downstream sector.
The refinery’s actions are aimed at easing pressure on consumers.
Calls for greater transparency and accountability in petrol pricing are growing louder.
