Dist. Senator Jide Ipinshagba
Ondo North Senatorial District.
Dear Sir,
NOTIFICATION OF ACCOUNTABILITY PROTEST
We, the youth Stakeholders in Owo Local Government and other concerned persons within the Northern Senatorial District, hereby notify you of our intention to hold a protest against the Senator representing Ondo North District at the red chamber, Sen. Jide Ipinshagba.
The protest which is scheduled to hold on May 29th, 2025 in Owo is as a result of Sen. Ipinshagba’s failure to live up to the expectations of the people he’s representing at the senate, Particularly, the good people of Owo Kingdom, He has consistently demonstrated lack of commitment to addressing our concerns and needs, despite the magnitude of available human and capital resources.
Of note, is the 2023 100-million-naira skill acquisition project facilitated by Senator Ajayi Borofice, and inherited by Senator Jide Ipinshagba was not executed, we stand to be corrected. Also, in 2024, Senator Jide Ipinshagba facilitated a Youth Development center and has not executed the project till today. For us, it’s the highest level of de-service to us as Owo People.
So, as a development group that recognizes the possible impacts of those projects in a culturally conscious ethnic nation like Owo will not just fold her hands. Given President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s effort at youth investment drive.
His inaction has led to a sense of disillusionment and frustration among the populace, who feel that their voices are not being heard. We fear that if this trend continues, it may lead to more severe consequences, including increased apathy towards the political process and potential social unrest.
We want to assure you that our protest will be peaceful and will not disrupt the normal activities of the community. We believe that this protest is a necessary step towards holding our Senator accountable and ensuring that our voices are heard.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Amb. Obanoyen Abiola (Adidas)
