In a recent interview shared by TVC News, National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Haruna Mohammed, addressed comments surrounding former party leader Bode George and the internal dynamics of the opposition party.
According to him, “Bode George has been expelled from the party, but his statement that the PDP remains an Iroko tree is a factual statement.”
Mohammed noted that the remark reflects the historical identity of the PDP as a resilient political institution despite ongoing internal disagreements and leadership tensions within the party.
He emphasized that the party continues to engage its members through constitutional mechanisms while addressing issues of discipline, loyalty, and unity across its structures.
He further maintained that despite controversies and political interpretations, the PDP remains focused on rebuilding trust with Nigerians ahead of future elections.
He also urged party members to remain calm and committed, stressing that unity within the opposition is essential for strengthening democratic competition in Nigeria’s political space.
