Insecurity: Tinubu Is Not Bothered Because Yoruba People Are Not Being Killed—Yabagi
In a recent interview with The Sun on Sunday, April 19, 2026, the presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the 2023 general elections, Alhaji Sani Yusuf Yabagi, has raised serious concerns about insecurity in Nigeria and the response of the federal government.
Speaking on recent comments by Ahmad Gumi, Yabagi said the government must act quickly and decisively, Gumi had suggested that authorities already know those who are financing terrorism in the country, this claim has sparked public debate and increased pressure on leaders to respond.
Yabagi stated that a responsible government should not keep such information secret and argued that those behind insecurity should be publicly identified and held accountable, according to him, naming and prosecuting the alleged sponsors would send a strong message and help restore public trust.
He stressed that insecurity has continued to affect many parts of the country, especially in the North, communities have faced frequent attacks, kidnappings, and violence, many families have been displaced, while others live in fear, Yabagi believes that failing to act on known intelligence only makes the situation worse.
The former presidential candidate criticized the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he claimed that the government appears less concerned about the scale of violence in some regions and pointed to the high number of kidnappings and attacks in northern states as evidence of this concern.
Yabagi argued that leadership should show equal concern for all citizens, regardless of their region or background, he said every Nigerian life should matter equally, and government actions should reflect that principle.
”As I told you, Tinubu is not bothered because Yoruba people are not being killed. Have you heard of Yoruba people being kidnapped in the manner that the Northerners are being kidnapped? So, he doesn’t care,” he said.
