2027: You Cannot Have A Gov Like Okphebolo Doing So Much In Edo And Still Want To Defeat Him-Afegbua
In a recent interview shared by Arise News, Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Edo State, Kassim Afegbua, has expressed confidence in the political strength of the current administration in Edo State ahead of future electoral contests.
Afegbua was speaking in support of the performance of the state governor, Monday Okpebholo, noting that ongoing developments and governance efforts under his leadership would significantly influence voter perception and political outcomes in the state.
He stated, “You cannot have a governor like Okphebolo doing so much in Edo and still want to defeat him.” The commissioner’s comment underscores the belief within the state government that performance in office will play a decisive role in shaping electoral advantage.
According to Afegbua, the administration has continued to implement policies and projects aimed at improving infrastructure, governance delivery, and public service efficiency. He argued that such visible efforts would naturally strengthen the political standing of the governor and his party.
He further suggested that opposition forces may find it difficult to gain ground if the current pace of governance is sustained, emphasizing that voters are increasingly attentive to performance-based leadership rather than political rhetoric.
